Homeward Trust
Homeward Trust has been instrumental in providing leadership in how we address homelessness in our city. Since 2009, more than 6,000 people have been housed through the Housing First program. Community agencies and mainstream systems are working on ways to improve integration of services. There has been a 43% decrease in the number of people identified as experiencing homelessness from 2008 to 2016.
As system planner in Edmonton, Homeward Trust collaborates with multiple agencies and organizations, as well as all levels of government, ensuring alignment and accountability of resources and efforts. For someone experiencing homelessness,
there should be no wrong door to accessing housing. Our goal is simple but not easy: ending homelessness in Edmonton.
