Since the beginning of this process earlier this year, the City of Edmonton and Homeward Trust have engaged with over 3,000 Edmontonians through surveys, engagement sessions, roundtables, and meetings with coordinating tables. Our survey had almost 3,000 responses and our engagement sessions and meetings had close to 300 attendees.
Housing providers, agencies, Housing First teams, systems and community have been asked to identify what they feel is important in order to end homelessness in Edmonton. These priorities, alongside our own research and evidence-based practices, will inform the draft version of the Update to the Plan to End Homelessness.
We will continue engaging key stakeholders and will ensure community is informed of our progress. We will be coming back to Edmontonians with an updated plan in early Summer with a renewed energy and focus on ending homelessness.
We know it is possible; we’re doing it!
